DEMO-OLIOP Project: SRH05 Intervention – Demonstrative actions for the development of extra virgin olive oil production in the Oltrepò Pavese

Demonstrative action and presentation of the book

Friday, October 23 The Riccagioia Foundation hosts «EVO in Oltrepò», a day dedicated to mechanization in the olive grove in Oltrepò Pavese with exhibiting companies and, at the same time, to presentation of the new book on «frontier» olive growing in the territory. The initiative, carried out as part of the DEMO-OLIOP project, is aimed at olive growers, agricultural enterprises, technicians, researchers and citizens; in addition, access is free upon registration.

Mechanization in the olive grove and olive cultivation in Oltrepò Pavese

In Oltrepò, a territory historically dedicated to viticulture, the olive tree grows instead near the northern edge of its range. To become a viable industry, therefore, this «frontier» olive cultivation needs techniques and machinery suited to the local olive groves. The DEMO-OLIOP project, in fact, is supported by Lombardia 2023–2027 Rural Development, funded by the European Union through the SRH05 intervention. Specifically, SRH05 is dedicated to demonstration actions, that is, moments in which techniques and technologies are demonstrated directly to businesses and technicians.
